Preparing for a Golf Vacation in Europe: What to Take
Packing for a golf vacation can be a little overwhelming, especially if you are going to a destination that you have never visited before. After you take a few golf vacations, you will start to get the hang of what you need to take and what you can leave behind, but the first trip to two can be a little trickier. With your packing chore out of the way, you can get on your way to your European golf destination and start making some memories that will can last a lifetime.
Below are a few packing tips for your golf vacation in Europe. Use these tips, along with any experience you have gained from previous vacations, to do the best possible job packing your bags.
- Leave the golf balls behind. There is no reason to pack too many golf balls when you can just buy some once you arrive at your destination. Golf balls take up space and add weight to your bags, so leave them behind. Assuming you are going to a major golf destination, they are sure to have all of the main golf ball brands available for purchase, so you should be able to find just the brand you like to play.
- Dress in layers. If you aren’t sure exactly what to expect in terms of weather for your rounds, pack plenty of lightweight layers so you can adapt to the conditions as they change. Even if you expect the weather to be dry and warm, make sure to bring at least one or two warmer options just in case the weather takes a turn for the worse.
- Bring your favorite golf shoes. While you can just purchase some golf balls when you arrive in Europe, buying new golf shoes isn’t such a good idea. Not only can shoes get expensive, but they also need to be broken in over time. If you play several rounds within the course of a week in new golf shoes, blisters are a very real possibility. Bring a good pair of golf shoes that are already broken in so you can keep your feet as comfortable as possible.
Think about each item you put in your bag and make sure you will need it before including it in your baggage. Don’t put off your packing and wait until the last minute either – get it done ahead of time so you can think it through and make sure you have all of the things you will need.
