Golf Tips to Help You Organize Your Bag Properly
If you carry a full set of golf clubs as allowed under the rules, you will have fourteen clubs to keep organized in your bag. In addition, you will have all of your various accessories and other equipment that you need to make it through the round. If you aren’t organized, your bag can quickly become a mess and you will have a hard time finding anything when you need it. Getting your bag organized before you head to the course is a great way to make your experience just a little more enjoyable.
Below are a few tips that should help you get your bag properly organized before hitting the first tee –
- Keep your clubs in order. Most golfers keep their clubs in order from longest to shortest, with the long clubs going in the top of the bag. Group your driver and fairway woods, long irons, mid irons, and short irons together so they are easy to find. You don’t want to be fumbling around for the right club when you are getting ready to hit a shot, so stay organized and you will always know where to find the club you need.
- Use one pocket for the essentials. There are certain items that you will reach for more often than the rest in your bag, so try to group them together in the same pocket. Things like golf balls, tees, your gloves, pencils, and divot repair tools are all commonly used during every round. Pick out one of the small pockets on your bag that is easy to access and use it to hold all of your most-used items.
- Designate a snack spot. Most golfers like to bring a snack with them onto the course, as a round of golf can easily last four hours or more. Pick out a pocket on your bag where you put your food so that it is to find and doesn’t get mixed up with the rest of your gear. Ideally this pocket will be easy to reach while walking up the fairway (if you carry your bag) so you can snack on the go. Also, finding a spot in the bag for a water bottle is a good idea. Organizing your bag is all about being prepared, and having a little bit of food and water with you can make the day on the course far more enjoyable.
